Charley Snow, artist extraordinaire
Vickey’s younger brother is a professional artist. And by professional I mean he actually supports himself through his art – a pretty impressive feat if you ask me. Grandpa Snow recently sent a link to a gallery that displays Charley’s work. I thought it was worth linking to in case some of you blog readers [...]
Another tooth bites the dust
Eliana called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that her second tooth has fallen out. She actually pulled it out herself. She called my mobile phone and work phone just as I was leaving the office, so she left me two messages, and they’re pretty darn cute! Listen for yourself…
What’s in a name?
Today’s Dominic’s name day. I know, many of you are wondering, “What’s a name day?” It’s a little way I pay homage to my Italian heritage. You see, as I’ve written about before, Italians not only celebrate birthdays, they also celebrate name days. Any excuse for a party! So, in addition to wishing my brother, [...]
Eliana’s first cheerleading performance
Ellie was so thrilled a couple weeks ago when she received notice in school that she could go to a couple hour cheerleading clinic at Coronado High School, learn from the high school cheerleaders, and then perform during halftime at the school’s men’s basketball game on Jan. 18. She got a Coronado HS t-shirt and [...]
Dominic on the road to recovery
Dominic saw Dr. Stewart, the pediatric orthopedic surgeon, today. Dr. Stewart was very pleased with what he saw. He said the x-ray shows Dominic’s femur is at about 85% of normal. He checked out flexibility and mobility, along with comparing the length of both femurs and said everything checks out just dandy. Dominic is still [...]
Eliana looses first tooth
After weeks and weeks of a loose tooth, Eliana is finally sporting a gap in her lower row of teeth. We were talking with Mark and Amber during dinner about Eliana’s tooth and Mark called Ellie and told her he’d pull her tooth. Of course, when we tried to wiggle her tooth she’d cry and [...]
Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble
Here’s a sight we haven’t seen much in our home for six weeks—Dominic in the bathtub. We’re so happy that he asks for a bath just about every day now. The first time he took a bath after having the cast removed he screamed through the whole thing. It’s such a relief he’s out of [...]
Mitt Romney’s campaign for president
I typically don’t blog about religion. There is good in any religion that teaches tolerance, virtue, integrity and service to others. But I’m so impressed by a Jan. 6 article published by Harvard professor Noah Feldman in The New York Times Magazine about Mitt Romney’s struggle for the U.S. presidency as a Mormon that I [...]
The cast is off
Well, for those of you wondering, Dominic’s cast was removed today around 11:30 a.m. The doctor and his staff took a couple x-rays and felt there was enough healing to warrant removal of the cast. Then they took another x-ray to look at the bone without interference from the fiberglass cast. Dr. Stewart told us [...]
Dominic returns for more x-rays
We have received some calls inquiring about Dominic’s spica cast so I thought I’d provide a quick update for all the blog readers. We see the doctor at 11 this morning for a follow-up x-ray. Depending on the results of the x-ray, we’ll come home without the cast or with the cast for a few [...]
